Advanced echocardiography (strain / 3D)

Wythenshawe echocardiography department has state-of-the-art echocardiography equipment and highly trained staff. In view of this we are able to offer advanced echocardiography technique that can look at the function of the heart in great detail. Strain and 3D echocardiography is performed in the same manner as a standard transthoracic echocardiogram; however, the sonographer (person performing the scan) is able to use computer software to calculate very detailed measurements of the heart performance (strain imaging) and look at the heart structures in 3-dimensions (3D echocardiography). 3D echocardiography is also used during transoesophageal echocardiography to understand the heart anatomy in greater detail.
