NW Hearts Charity recognises that the emotional and psychological trauma of administering cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the community is very real. Currently, support to the people who suddenly find themselves as emergency responders, often with no knowledge or training, is virtually non-existent.
Emma Carey experienced this first-hand when she had to spring into action to resuscitate a friend in a community venue. Emma, a Queen’s nurse and local Health Visitor decided that something needed to be done about this and her new initiative launches in Rossendale on 28th September 2025. Together with a resus nurse and a team of community first responders, Emma has set up a monthly support group. More details can be found HERE
NW Hearts Charity is very interested in supporting this service and hopes it can be rolled out across South Manchester in time.
