The Trustees of NW Hearts Charity wanted to make the final Excellence In Heart Health Award of the evening to someone who has made an invaluable contribution to heart health in Greater Manchester.

Abigail Prabhakar became a Trustee of NW Hearts Charity when it was launched in 2021. Her foundational work laid the vital groundwork for all the progress and successes NW Hearts Charity has achieved since. She helped develop the charity’s constitution, shaped its progress and has been a lynchpin in giving us a very strong governance framework right from the beginning.

Abigail brought immense expertise, passion, and strategic clarity to the Board, ensuring the charity was robust, transparent, and focused on its core mission.

Through her commitment, countless individuals across Greater Manchester have benefited from the charity’s initiatives, whether through funding for innovative programmes, new equipment, or vital support services. Her influence is woven into the very fabric of NW Hearts Charity.

Although Abigail stepped down as a Trustee last year due to personal reasons, her legacy remains profound. She continues to be a cherished friend and supporter of the charity.

We honour Abigail for her vision, her dedication as a founding Trustee, and for making a truly invaluable contribution that continues to improve lives every day.
