A first half marathon, £805 raised, and a new challenge ahead!

Cardiac Physiology Degree Apprentice, Freya Collins, raised over £800 for NW Hearts Charity by running her first Manchester Half Marathon recently. Inspired by the charity’s work in her hospital department and its positive impact on heart health in the region, she decided to support NW Hearts Charity to raise awareness and funds.

Freya’s fundraising, which involved months of training and community support, raised an impressive £680. With Gift Aid, the total reached £805. Freya thanked her friends, family, and colleagues for encouraging her along the way.

Encouraged by this experience, Freya has signed up for the full Manchester Marathon in April 2027. She plans to continue supporting and fundraising for NW Hearts Charity and her efforts show how personal challenges can support local causes.

We are extremely grateful for Freya’s continued support. Not only is she raising significant funds to help us continue supporting people and projects that improve heart health outcomes in our region, but she is also spreading the word about our charity. Making sure more people know there is a local heart charity here for them and allowing us to reach and support even more people in our communities. Thank you Freya!

Freya kindly shared with us what NW Hearts Charity means to her and why she supports us, you can read it here.
