Dr Contractor is a high volume coronary operator performing approximately 300 procedures per year. He has a strong interest in complex and high risk procedures and have a mature skill set in chronic total occlusion PCI.
Dr Contractor has a strong interest in secondary prevention and have established and am the lead of a community vascular optimisation clinic. He has recently developed an interest in renal denervation for hypertension with this new service being established at Wythenshawe as a regional referral centre.

Training
Dr Contractor trained in medicine at the University of Aberdeen and with a strong interest in research, took time during this period to undertake an intercalated BSc in molecular and cell biology.
After starting cardiology training in the North West of England, he returned to academia and undertook a DPhil in molecular mechanisms of cardioprotection at the University of Oxford, St Catherine’s College before returning to Manchester complete his medical training.
Dr Contractor was successful in obtaining the Boston Scientific BCIS Fellowship to Vancouver Island, Canada where he spent a year in a high volume PCI setting with exposure to cardiac structural intervention.
