A newly expanded Greater Manchester ICD Support Group will officially launch in 2026, offering regular opportunities for people living with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), as well as their families and carers, to connect, learn and support one another.
The group is now open to any ICD patient across Greater Manchester, and will be run in partnership with NW Hearts Charity and the involvement of patients and NHS colleagues.
First meeting confirmed
The first meeting of 2026 will take place in just a few weeks time:
Wednesday 25 February 2026
3.00–5.00pm
Meeting Room 1, Wythenshawe Forum (M22 5RX)
Wythenshawe Forum is easily reached by bus and tram, and also has a large pay and display car park (80p for 2 hours).
Future meetings will take place four times a year, rotating between Wythenshawe Forum and Middleton Lighthouse, with a mix of afternoon and evening sessions to make it easier for more people to attend.
