Matt Hill, a music facilitator with Intergenerational Music Making (IMM), is honoured for his creative and compassionate contribution to heart health through the Singing from the Heart programme. Funded by NW Hearts Charity, this innovative initiative combines music therapy, breathwork, and group singing to support people living with or at risk of cardiovascular disease.
Matt’s sessions—delivered across hospitals, care homes, and community venues—offer more than just musical engagement. They reduce isolation, improve mood and respiratory function, and build confidence among participants. His personal experience of living with a heart condition brings authenticity and empathy that resonates deeply with those he supports.
Participants describe his sessions as transformative: joyful, empowering, and restorative. He also equips carers and families with tools to use music as a source of strength and healing.
Matt embodies the power of creative health. This recognition celebrates his ability to bring humanity, hope, and connection into cardiac care—one song at a time.
