When Natalie’s dad suffered a heart attack in March 2024, the emergency treatment from Wythenshawe Hospital’s heart centre quite literally saved his life.
Natalie has now gone the extra miles and is due to compete in a White Collar boxing match on Saturday 9th November in order to raise funds for NW Hearts Charity, who support patients living with heart disease across Greater Manchester.
Natalie says” I have never done anything quite like this before so pushing myself way out of my comfort zone but for a very good cause.I come from a martial arts background and my dad is a martial arts instructor in Oldham. It was through my dad that I first found a love for boxing as a fan. I always wished that I had taken up boxing but started to feel that maybe I had left it too late. It was after my dads heart attack that I finally got the confidence to push myself.”
Sue Martin, Manager at the Charity says “Heart and Circulatory disease account for 1 in 4 deaths in the UK. This figure is significantly higher in Greater Manchester. We have followed Natalie’s training regime and know that her hard work will pay off next week in the ring. We would urge people to get behind Natalie and sponsor her for this substantial challenge.” Natalie’s Just Giving page can be found HERE
