Nicola Lyons, Associate Director of Performance and Operations for Cardiac Services at MFT, is recognised for her dedication to patient wellbeing beyond the clinical setting, particularly through her pivotal role in creating the Dr Neil Davidson Memorial Garden at Wythenshawe Hospital. As Associate Director of Performance and Operations for Cardiac Services at MFT, Nicola helped transform a disused outdoor space into a tranquil garden for patients, families, and staff to reflect, breathe, and connect with nature.
The garden, opened in 2025 in the presence of Dr Davidson’s family, now serves as a place of calm and healing in a demanding hospital environment. Nicola worked tirelessly with NW Hearts Charity to bring this vision to life, contributing both professionally and personally to ensure its success and sustainability.
This recognition honours Nicola’s leadership, compassion, and her understanding of how physical spaces can nurture emotional and psychological wellbeing during times of stress and recovery.
