NW Hearts Charity is pleased to announce the release of its tenth patient information leaflet, marking an important milestone in the charity’s commitment to improving understanding of heart conditions and treatments.
The latest leaflet focuses on Infective Endocarditis, a serious but often misunderstood condition. As with all NW Hearts Charity publications, the leaflet has been written by medical experts and carefully reviewed to ensure it is clear, accurate and easy for patients and their families to understand.
The full range of patient information leaflets now available from NW Hearts Charity covers:
- Infective Endocarditis
- Transoesophageal Echocardiogram (TOE)
- Heart Valve Surgery
- TAVI: Your Hospital Stay
- TAVI Procedure
- Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack)
- Coronary Angiography
- Heart Failure
- Pacemakers
- Coronary Angioplasty
The leaflets are designed to support patients at key moments in their care, helping them feel more informed, confident and involved in decisions about their heart health.
All leaflets can be downloaded directly from the Your Heart section of the NW Hearts Charity website, or ordered in printed form via the charity’s online shop. Printed copies are provided free of charge to NHS staff, enabling clinicians to share trusted, high-quality information with patients as part of routine care.
James White, Chief Executive of NW Hearts Charity, said:
“Patients consistently tell us how valuable clear, trustworthy information is when they are facing a heart condition or procedure. These leaflets are written by experts but designed with patients firmly in mind, so they explain complex issues in a way that is easy to understand. Reaching our tenth leaflet is a real milestone, and we’re proud to support both patients and NHS colleagues with resources they can rely on.”
NW Hearts Charity is already working with clinical partners on additional patient information leaflets, with more titles planned for release during 2026.
