Rachel Holloway has dedicated over 20 years to cardiac rehabilitation and fitness, playing a vital role in supporting heart patients across Oldham. As a Reach Exercise Referral Programme instructor at Oldham Community Leisure, Rachel is known for her warmth, attentiveness, and commitment to tailoring programmes that support each individual’s goals and wellbeing.
Beyond her everyday role, Rachel has demonstrated extraordinary calm and professionalism in critical situations—successfully resuscitating four individuals who suffered cardiac events at the centre, including two requiring defibrillation. Though not under her formal care, her immediate actions saved lives.
Colleagues and clients consistently praise Rachel for her empathetic nature, her ability to make people feel seen, and her dedication to improving quality of life through exercise and rehabilitation. Cardiac patients make up around 80% of her client base, and she approaches each with deep care and clinical insight.
Rachel’s lasting impact, both in structured rehab and in moments of crisis, makes her a deeply deserving recipient of this recognition.
